Privacy Policy

Shobshob complies with Canada’s PIPEDA and Alberta’s PIPA. We collect only the data needed to run the marketplace (data minimization).

What we collect

• Account: email and phone (phone is for order contact, not login).
• Sellers: business details, kitchen photos, and an exact address used privately for distance — only an approximate area is shown publicly.
• Orders, payments (via Stripe), reviews, and support messages.

Consent & your rights

You consent to this processing when you create an account. You can export all data we hold about you, and delete your account, from your account page at any time. On deletion we remove your personal data; past orders are retained but anonymized to meet tax and accounting obligations.

Location privacy

A seller’s exact coordinates and street address are stored privately and never sent to the browser before an order is accepted. Discovery shows only an approximate area; the exact pickup address is revealed to the customer only once the cook accepts the order.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. This is an MVP summary and will be replaced by a complete privacy policy before public launch.
